I know this thread is old, but I just bought a new cabin filter on eBay for $13.80 shipped. If you need one, that's a pretty good deal IMHO.

I use this replacement filter in my car: http://www.logical-source.com/2008-L...RIES-8729.html

As an FYI if you need one fast the Toyota Tundra A/C cabin will fit our cars b/c it is the same, Autozone etc carry it for cheap.

Pretty cool to know this. Even I can handle this. lol. I usually take my car to the dealership for everything.

As to how many cabin filters, if your Lex is the L version then there're two filters. Otherwise it's just one.
I have an L but I don't have the rear climate control. Does that mean I only have one filter?

I also had this problem after local garage changed A/C filter. I took it back to them and they managed to remove and reset door. Didn't cost anything and they stuck a large label on the black door cover 'PUSH RECIRC BUTTON BEFORE REMOVING DOOR'. Seems like Lexus could do this and save everyone grief!

Lexus assumes you will take it to them and they know how to do it. People shouldn't assume they know how to do things. I'd rather have a mechanic say that he's not sure how to do something and will find out how than for someone to think they know what to do and F#$% it up. It even says in the owners manual to put it in recirc.

I hope they really fixed it. A couple years, or more, ago a member here posted that the dealership had to take the dash out in order to get to that door and repair it. It cost big bucks due to so much labor.

Could you elaborate on this ? sorry if it sounds like a daft question, but I just want to make sure I set it to the correct mode.

Yes I thought it was that, I just needed confirmation, thanks for your quick response and help.

Also whilst I'm here, is there much advantage to buying genuine ac filter over the after market version.

Is there much difference between a Chinese tire for $150 vs a Pirelli for $250? They are both rubber and grip the road!!!
