Help with Negative Camber
Hello All,
I've recently changed from a 2002 745i to a 2008 LS460. The LS was purchased with 22" staggered Vossen wheels with a Tanabe lowering kit. I've noticed that the car is devouring the inside of the front tires. I took it to a shop in New Orleans who informed me that the negative camber wasn't within specs -1.8lh and -1.6rh. What I'm wondering is has there been any luck on dealing with this issue. I'm located in Baton Rouge, La and would love any insight or help in resolving this issue. I have Nitto Invo tires and as we all know they are not cheap to replace. So any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are control arm brackets available through Lexus parts that will add 2mm of camber range. This will get the rear into spec and the front extremely close. Thats all we have.

this is the thread for the brackets and a dropped LS with Vossen wheels and the same springs you have. This should help BIG TIME!!

The non adjustable Lexus +2mm control arm part numbers are as follows:
Number 1 brackets -
RH 48614-50030
RH 48617-50030
Number 2 brackets -
LH 48614-50050
LH 48617-50050

that amount of camber seems very little to be "devouring" your tires. maybe your toe is out of wack?
my last 2 cars i ran almost -3* or more up front and had alot of life on them.

The rears are within specs it's the fronts that are wearing. I'm gonna take the car to an old school alignment guy and see what he says. If he can't then I'll purchase the camber kits from Lexus.
A side question: will Lexus refuse to honor my warranty due to the vehicle being lowered.

No it will not void warranty unless the part thats broken was broken because it was directly caused by the aftermarket part. I have been modding for years and have always serviced my cars at the dealership. My G35 even had a tuned ECU and they knew it and they still did nothing when I blew 2 fuel injectors. You will be fine

I have the same setup as you but with the extended brackets and still have not done an alignment after the install but so far that I have noticed that the camber seems right about in spec from what I can see...I will get the numbers the next time I go to align the car. I would highly recommend getting the brackets.

Bad toe setting will kill a tire long before camber will...we are in need of a true adjustable camber kit but a good alignment with Toyota +2mm brackets should help..I'm anxiously awaiting my next alignment now that I have my new Vossens and the tanabes should be settled by now since my install in Oct.
Good luck!

Sweeeet!! Crisis averted!! The camber brackets will get it even closer, but if you are green all the way around on the alignment machine, you should go have drinks and celebrate this victory!

Remember that the car also weigh over two tons. Thats also going to get the tires to go faster.
