Rented a Taurus 6 or so months ago out west for a week while visiting state highpoints and it was a total POS. It looked nice, the A/C worked like a viking, the radio was OK with the free XM but the controls, the ancient looking interior, the seats, totally sucked for me.

By the end of the week, I was very happy to turn it back in. I no longer look at the new Tauruses and think "Sweet". I just think "lame" now instead.

Here's the one I rented - a pretty burgundy one I had such high hope for when I first saw it at the airport parking lot waiting for me...

Didn't click on the video either....I remember seeing this commercial on tv and couldn't figure out why they would ruin an LS to prove a point of the paint. You can't compare the two, like 2004TOYO said. Besides, am I the only one who thinks the Taurus is an ugly vehicle? I don't think they did anything to make it appealing. Rear end, ugly, front end looks generic. The stance of the car is just horrible to me. I liked Taurus's of the past and almost bought one a long time ago, until I drove one from GA to Louisiana. It was an unstable, almost scary ride on the highway.
