Previously I posted for information on using a 255/55R-55 tire Instead of the factory 235/50R-18 for winter driving . I was not sure if their was any draw back to using the narrow tire . I do not drive this car very hard so cornering and hard stopping on dry pavement were not as big a concern as handling in ice and snow . After two snowfalls I can say the narrow tire was a Great move . By going to a 255/55R-18 I was able to get the newer designed Blizzak WS70 and driving up hills or stopping on the way down is no problem ,at this point it seems the only limiting factor is the ground clearance of this vehicle, the stability is amazing for a rear wheel drive vehicle. The tire fit the factory wheels no problem so I acquired an extra set from ebay very reasonably and purchased a set of tire pressure sensors from a place called Opel engineering (630-837-2900 ask for Sandy) They matched the sensor codes I had so I can change wheels and tire when ever I want, no dealer , no warning light , about $225.00 .
