Default How to add subwoofer to a non Mark Levinson system?

Hello everyone,
I just bought an 07 LS460L, first off its an amazing car and I am in love with it already although I was very pissimistic since I am coming from a 7 series BMW. In any case car is great but I need some base and window tint asap. Is there any DIY or general guidelines on how to add a sub and amp to the car?
Unfortunately mine doesnt have Mark Levinson so I definately need a sub. I have installed systems before, but dont really wanna start tearing things apart without some sort of direction.
Thanks for your help!

you would need to either find the oem amp or door speakers.. the get a line level convertor and a low voltage trigger the add an aftermarket amp an sub set up...(the line level will take the signal from the speakers an turn em into rca signal that the amp can use... the low voltage trigger will turn the amp on & off w the oem system)

i do this in cars all the time... just make sure the amp your tryin to use has a remote gain control... or else you'll need a preamp volume control...

I remember reading this post about the AudioControl LC2i for the addition of a aftermarket sub.

That was my install. The LC2 is a hi-lo converter on steroids of sorts. It works like a regular hi-lo but has gain control and actually adds a little more bass to whatever youre listening to. It also has a built in amp remote cut on-off that works thru sound. So as soon as it senses sound, it'll turn the amp on. Mines was done along with the ML amp but it should work if you dont have the ML system. Just run it from the rear speakers.

very cool, so if I am understanding this correctly I will no longer need to find the remote wire for the amp, since the LOC somehow turns on the amp once there is sound?
So i just need power, ground, and signal for LOC from rear speakers to connect the system?
If so this will be the easiest install ever

correct u can get power from the oem amp then just find a pr of speaker wires.. when the oem system turns on an sends power to the speakers the module will turn on (and turn on the aftermarket amp) powering the sub
