Gs vs ls
i drove the 2013 gs today and i liked it a lot. I have a 2010 LS460 and was considering downsizing to the GS. But, after driving it and sitting in it for about 30 minutes, i decided to stay with the LS. I enjoy the LS's more comfortable feel and smoother road performance.
The gadgets on the GS and the appointments are excellent. The seats were a little to hard for me. The trunk is big, and there is plenty of room in the back seat. Overall, its a nice car. The steering is much tighter than the LS. But, again, the LS rides better for me. I really don't want to feel the road. It's like flying, i don't want to feel the air pockets. Also, i found the engine noisier then the LS.
if i was looking for a sporty sedan, i would jump on the GS. Especially with Lexus' reputation for making really good quality.
When Lexus comes out with its new LS, i will probably go with it. I am hearing the end of this year.

The only midlevel sedan to even consider "downgrading" from an LS would be a 550i in my opinion. In terms of from 07-08 LS to 2012 midlevel sedan. I cant wait til all the gs features are translated into flagship form for the redesign.

my next door neighbor has a 2011 550i. List was 80,000 with all the stuff. Its a nice car too, but the GS for about 63,000 with all the stuff is a better buy and better quality than the 550.

We had ours this past Tuesday, Henessey Lexus ATL rolled out the red carpet and did excellent job with the event. It was also cool to see the GS F and GS in other colors, they look great in red!

LS still has more backseat space, especially L. Wife always drives lot kids with big bags, so GS was never an option for her. However I can consider GS for myself, however more likely will look for faster car, maybe even will jump in Equus although it is another LS. Since I do lease only I am restricted only to Mercedes, BWM, and Lexus. other makes have awful residual, that makes leasing more expensive than buying. And I can't imagine stick with the same car more than 3 years, actually after 2 years I start hating current car.

Have you seen the latest Audi A6 Avant TDI diesel ? Dude, try to keep an open mind. Wagons are cool and we need a variety - look at Europe - they have way , way more to choose from in terms of vehicle makes, styles and engine options ( and they enjoy this variety due to their open mind )

I don't think there is any similarity with a LS and GS.
Speaking of wagons, these are some of the best wagons IMO

I'd rather drive these than a minivan!

I too, tend to buy a new car every year, try as I might to avoid it. Just seems to happen. I love the drive and feel of the BMW 550i, but had a 530i, 2007, and had to dump it. WAY too many problems with everything but the engine and transmission. A/C horrible, brakes didn't last long, power steering broke, on and on and on, and every repair is a fortune to do once the warranty is up. The LS isnt nearly as fun to drive, but it is also never in the shop. And that matters to me.
