unknown knob and indicator light

Below the instrument cluster and about 6 inches to the right of the steering column (mounted on a plate) is a **** and small indicator light.Tthe light comes on when you turn the **** fully clockwise until it clicks.i can't tell what it's for and can't find anything about it in the owners manual.Does anyone know what it does? tx.

The only **** I see in the vicinity of the steering wheel on my 2011LS is well under the dash on the right (near the tire pressure TPMS controls) and I believe that **** is for setting the volume of the beep you hear when you lock/unlock the doors. But there is no light.

Thanks for looking.i'll take some pictures tomorrow.The **** and light that i'm asking about are to the right and above the **** that adjusts the volume for the buzzer.From other pictures i've seen of that area on other cars ,both may only be on the 2007l model. tx

I am surprised you thought Lexus would put something in that shoddy looking into an LS. lol. Not factory but I am curious as to what it as well. did you try to look underneath the little box to see if there is a brand or some other indicator on it??
