Agreed. From all the articles I'm reading it will be announced later this fall with the first units arriving Q1 2013 as a 2014 model. It will be a total redesign inside and out. I'm really expecting some amazing tech on it.

I have a 2010 LS 460L w/executive package purchased new. Love it and have had "0" problems. It is a real pleasure to drive.

i think for me it's the details that make the Ls a superior car. How the luxury package gives you auto closing doors, suede head liner, double pane glass, rear reclining seats, etc. And it's kinda cool rolling next to almost any other Lexus and know they don't have what you got...the flag ship!

Long story here but cut to the chase, my dealership sales and service managers both told me today the 2013 LSs are due to arrive late August and will be the redesigned LS, not a refresh. First on their "list" due to an issue that they owe me big time for. Cannot wait!

This is the first time I read/heard about 2013 being a "redesign" rather than a "refresh" coming from a dealership. I think there might be something to this. There have been some spy photos showing disguised LS 460 on CA streets. If it's just a body refresh, Lexus normally wouldn't put the car on camouflage and test it on the street, right?

An Orlando based dealer is expecting the new redesigned LS to be out by the end of August or early September. The front grill is going to look like the 2013 GS and the telematics system will also be similar to the GS.

Yes Lexus will camo the car even if just a refresh, it was said that Mr. Toyoda fired the LS team (from a toyota insider here) so a refresh would make sence that the new team would not have anything ready togo especially if they hated what the old team was planning fo the next gen LS. it takes 3-4 yrs to develope a new car design from the ground up, when the next gen LS dose show up hopefully it will be on some Starship Enterprise type level, something that wil lmake a statement with a serious road presence.......one can only hope.

Default The story of my 8 new LS's from 1993 thru 2010.

After several new top line Mercedes and several new BMW 7 series cars, I got my first LS in 1993. It was a loaded car with air suspension. What a great car. All of my LS's would have air suspension, as does my current 2010 LS460L. In addition to my '93, I had a '96, '97, '00, '03, '05, '08, & '10. My favorite was my 1997 LS400, in Moonstone with the Cypress interior. Not only was it a gorgeous car, but with its air suspension, 16" wheels and deep sidewall tires, it rode so beautifully. I have never enjoyed any of the LS's as much, but my current car is pretty wonderful. I know that my 2008 LS460L and my 2010 LS460L are supposed to be virtually identical, but I must tell you that I HATED my 2008 and I LOVE my 2010. Minute changes in the suspension damping, the brake feel and other, almost imperceptible changes have made my 2010 an absolute joy to drive over my 2008. I have Bridgestone Serenity tires on stock wheels and the ride is silent, supple and extremely comfortable. My wife has a 2010 Mercedes E350 sedan, with the Driver's Assistance Package. Whenever a car enters your blind spot, a red arrow lights up on the outside, rear view mirrors, either left or right. If you then put on your turn signal, an audible beep warns you that a car is there. On the little E Class, it's a nice thing to have. On my LS460L, it would be an absolute DELIGHT! If Lexus does not offer this type of feature on their next generation LS, I will be jumping to a S550 Mercedes. The LS460L is a BIG car. Every little feature that can make it easier and safer to drive is most appreciated. I would also like to see Lexus upgrade the interior just a bit, as Mercedes has outdone them currently. If, Lexus finds it necessary to carry the new "GS" design theme over to the LS, they can kiss me goodbye as a customer, as I find the new GS to be HORRID. I would love some new, WONDERFUL color choices, both exterior and interior. All in all though, my LS's have been wonderful, very dependable cars, for the past 20 years. Steve Johnson at the Lexus Westminster service department is "THE" BEST!

The extra space difference between the regular LS and the LS 460L seems huge! I'm 5'10" and with my rap video style lean I can still have my 6'5" friends in the back seat with ample head room.and at least 4" of leg room.I love it!
