How to access rear subwoofer.. Blown/Rattling
Hello, I'm trying to access my rear subwoofer in my 07 LS 460 with Mark Levinson. It seems to be blown or ripped somewhere as it makes a loud noise when it hits. Will the top grill just pop off? Or do I gotta do a full removal? If so, how do I get to it. Been reading on these forums for months and always find out help without having to ask, but couldnt find any detailed info. Thanks in advance!

no easy task. The rear decking must come out and in order to do that you need to remove the rear seats completely. You start with the bottom cushion, (assuming you have a standard model with no Executive package) and it pulls straight up, then you need to find the bolts holding the back cushions on and once the bottom and back are out, you should be able to see the access points for the rear deck that is covering up the subwoofer.

Thanks for the reply. Now are there different types of executive packages? My rear seats are power and do recline somewhat, but there isn't any foot recliners or massagers.

Your probably have the same rear entertainment like mine. Make sure to the move the rear seat all the way forward, and with two hands grab the seat cushion pull straight up. My woofer just went out this weekend too. Have you find out how much Lexus is charging for the woofer?

No. I heard they sell on eBay for $300-$400. Most people said they just tear on the edges causing it to flutter. Was told its an easy fix if so with some kind of epoxy or silicone. And it's suppose to sound better than new. Also was just thinking of replacing it with a JL Audio.

My sub started ratteling and I removed it but the foam wasnt torn. It seemed to be coming from that funny cone they have. It has some inverted cone. I just left it out and added an aftermarket sub.
