Didn't some of the previous gen Lexus already come with LED interior lights?

The interior of the LS will be "All" LED. There will be no regular bulbs anywhere.

I should have worded my post better. To put it another way, every bulb in the car is LED, with the exception of the headlights, unless you opt for the LED package. Then everything that emits photons is LED based.

Beastly and mean design. Love it.

Toyota needs to get its design cues from Lexus.

p.s. What about new safety features? Nobody is mentioning that now... people used to complain... now PCS works at any speed, plus there is city emergency braking system that works for you regardless of PCS, and will brake if it detects danger.

Looks like the good ol' 2007 will be kept around for a while. Maybe now I'll go ahead and splurge for that body kit I've been putting off in hopes for the 2013.
what are the missing features?

I swapped all of my interior bulbs for LED ones and yes they do fade but it just hair shorter than a standard bulb.

electronics adusted for leds will eliminate the difference, but in new LS, they have new background illumination, which should illuminate a lot more than before. They didnt explain it a lot but in new ES, it is optional, and they have it around the car, everywhere, supposedly for instance under the wooden pieces, so they subtly glow when you enter the car... stuff like that, that was missing from Lexus "experience".

Yeah the newer Buick LaCrosse had blue iluminated areas such as under the seats, in the guage cluster, shifter area, glove compartment, dash, and cup holders.

Lexus shouldn't be making a big deal out of LED's that BMW has had in their turn signals for about 10 years. Audi & infintii still lead the way with lighting IMO.

I made every light in my 2002 ES a vLED's LED bulb. They fade perfectly normal, if not nicer than the others.
Will be interesting to see if the LED light output is as good as the bi xenon's too.

The LED headlight package applies to the exterior only. The interior still has the standard LED maplights and even the door puddle lights (which I forgot to take a pic of). The entry lighting is still the standard conventional bulb lighting.

Here are the pics I posted live from the event on the CL Facebook Page:

The headlamps, foglamps and turnsignals are finally LED!!! The DRL is an LED tube from what I was told, it does not have the typical single diode array like the GS, IS, RX, LX and CT.

The rears feature LED tube taillamps. The turnsignals and even the back up lamps are finally LED!!!

My internet upload is slow at home...but will have a lot of pics to share later today.

But keep in mind... LED Headlights are going to be "Available" (like on the current generation)

The ONLY time you will see "LED Everthing" as a Standard Option, will be on the LS600 h L .

Also, pay attention to the Amber Turn Signals... Same QTY of LED Bulbs, but a slightly different lay out / pattern..
