Default What is the fair price for a '10 LS460L?

Looking for a '10-'11 LS460L (long wheelbase) with less than 25K miles on the odometer. How much should I pay for a clean, accident-free one? Where should I look for one?

I'm going to be in the US in about a month. I would love to finalize the purchase in person while there. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the mainland if that's necessary, though I prefer the east coast and the southern states (FL, TX) near the seaports for easier shipping arrangements.

Not sure if the laws would allow me to enter an auction (I heard it requires a dealer card) while I'm visiting the country under a visitor visa. I'm not even sure if that's the best way to buy a car.

All tips and hints are appreciated.

Thanks.

Here are some recent manheim auction prices on LS' which doesn't include the $500 auction fee. With the mileage you are looking for and in perfect condition you are looking at around $50k for a good deal on a L version on a 2010 with a 2011 being more.

The thing is, most of these have few options from what I have been seeing..coming from a SWB with nearly every option..finding a LWB with rear seat upgrade (heated, cooled, recline) has been impossible. Rear armrests in the pics are just a block of wood trim with no buttons lmao..but..600s almost all have Premium II package along with RSES..so, it may be a 2008 or 2009 600hL for me. Manheim info is great!!

I wonder how long it will take for the 2010 600s to fall below $60k. They are $70k ish right now at auction

Thanks patgilm. That was very useful info. How to get access to those data (or any other auction's for that matter)?

What's with all these AWD's being dumped in the market? And they're comparably less expensive to acquire than their RWD peers.

It seems that finding a good AWD is easier (and maybe cheaper to buy) from what I've seen. Not sure why though.

You can't get access unless you have an account and have a dealer's license. I have a friend that has an account so I look up stuff just for fun sometimes. If you are a car guy it is really cool to go up there. I used to go up on their highline sales and they had everything, Ford GTs, Lambos, Bentleys, Ferraris etc.

The reason you see a lot of AWD is in the northeast they probably sell more AWD than RWD because of the winters. At the dealership I go to all of the new ones they have or have had over the past few years are AWD unless it is a LS Sport model. Also, price is dependent on mileage, color and condition. The black, silver and white are usually more than the other colors. What you really can't see here is the condition. In addition to paying the $500 fee, many of these cars need some work including new tires and the bumpers painted which can cost you more money and a good bit have had paint work done and usually it is not good paint work. You can tell a really clean one if it was sold for more than a comparable car and you can tell a pretty beat up one if it has low mileage and was sold for less than a higher mileage one. The good thing is you can see pre-sale inventory and they are very detailed with their explanation of the condition including any scratches, paintwork and whether the paintwork is good or bad.

I thought outside the factory warranty, the CPO standard was 3yr/100,000 miles warranty. Where's the 6 year come from?
