On my 2007 LS460L I have the ML system.
I have a terrible rattle from the rear sub speaker.
I am thinking about adding an amp and custom sub box to my trunk and my question is, would you just use the same source wire going to the factory ML sub to suply the new amp and new sub ?
Not going to do it myself, going to a stereo shop soon. Just curious what others have done or think about this here.

id suggest using an audio control LC2i. from the ML amp sub signal leads. it will correct for the signal loss at higher levels

the installer will more than likely use the factory sub wires as the source for the new amp.
factory amp -- sub output ---> [line out converter] --> new amp
a remote gain is always a nice addition. this will allow for more control over the sub amp / bass output.

the prob with using a regular line convertor is that at high volume levels the oem amp cuts power to the sub.. which is why i said to use the LC2i because it restores that lost signal at upper volume levels..
