Nice upgrade, you will love the bluetooth streaming. You just get in the car and it recognizes your iphone and you can play music. Very simple. Also, I think the color you have is Mercury Metallic, Starfire Peal is white.

Congratulation on your new LS, I always love the new younger look, However, there's one thing I doubt is the quality of bluetooth music, I've tried several times on an IS, ES and LS, the sound was average, lack of bass, poor treble, the songs I played were 320kbps. Can anyone confirm this? I really like the HDD since the sound is very full.

Thank you. I tried some of this out and I love it! Bluetooth streaming is awesome but I haven't tried Pandora yet. I'll get to it. The iPod interface works excellent. I'm really happy about this. I didn't even know I was getting it... And you're right! The color is Mercury Metallic.

Thank you! I can't confirm this either - I haven't tested it yet - but I would imagine that music coming from the hard drive would sound better than bluetooth. That's just an assumption, however...

As for the iPod stuff - I won't know that until I pick up the car tomorrow morning. I don't think anything has changed in those regards, however. I'm pretty sure the LS still doesn't have a good way to connect to an iPod or iPhone other than the auxiliary port...
That's really interesting. All this time I assumed the LS460's always had some kind of iPod/USB hookup other than aux input.

FWIW, I used the USB port once or twice on our LX and haven't since. Bluetooth audio controls have come a long way since we first got the LX in 2010. After a couple of software updates (mainly iOS updates), you can now see song information on the NAV display and control (just jumping songs) from the steering wheel, so hooking up to the USB is not as imperative (unless your phone needs a charge too!).

Enjoy your new car!
That's crazy! I had no idea you could do all of that stuff. It makes me wish I had an LS460. My 09 GX just has an aux input, none of the fancy bluetooth or USB stuff.

Yes, you can confirm it. Any source of music coming from a wireless source will not sound as good as music coming from a cd or the device that is plugged into the machine. The cd will usually sound the best.

This is not a flaw of the Lexus, it is just what it is when it comes to wireless data.

Default Wanting to do the same thing

Sal, now that you have had it for a while do you think that the ride s smoother. I am not impressed at all with myn2008 460l. I expected the ride to be much much better. I'm going to the dealership to trade to the exact 2012 but in silver.

I am looking at replacing my 2008 LS460 with a 2012 LS460L with all the options -- radar cruise control, air suspension, ML audio. Any idea on what they go for now. Sticker is about $83,600. Thanks.
