CPO with cracked/chipped windshield
I purchased a CPO 08 LS460 last Thursday. Upon closer inspection of the windshield I noticed there was a chip and hairline crack on the windshield. I took it to the dealer to get some things fixed and requested they fix the chip and the crack because I purchased the vehicle that way. They told me they won't fix the windshield for me. Is there anything I can do to get them to fix it?

chip/cracked windshield
Just contact your insurance. It falls under comprehensive coverage. If the chip can not be repaired they will replace your windshield. A claim against comprehensive will not affect your rates. I carry 0 deductible, as it is cheap with my insurance company. Some people carry a high deductible to try and lower their insurance rate and then complain when they have to pay up come claim time. I pay something less than $50 a year for comprehensive insurance and I am with a top rated company.

I left my car at the dealership for some stuff to get fixed. The car had numerous problems right after I took it home, including the chip and cracked windshield. Pretty upset that the dealer sold me CPO that needed my car to kept at the dealer for a few days.

2016 CPO Lexus with Windshield chipped
Hi, did you have any luck? I just bought a 2016 CPO Lexus ES300h with a chipped windshield, didn't realize it until we brought it home. The dealer tried to fix it, but it is still visible. Do I have any recourse to ask them to replace the windshield?

Hopefully your dealer is better than my dealer (in NJ) after I pointed out a cracking sun roof surround rubber PRIOR to taking the 2012 CPO LS home and my salesman said it would be taken care of when I come in for my first service..... Came in for my complimentary 1’st service and the Service manager said he would NOT replace the rubber glass surround. Lexus CPO warranty is NOT what it is "cracked up" to be when it comes to cosmetic issues.
BTW! Most likely OP is "outta luck" because the chip repair is most likely guaranteed to not spread after the repair. "IF" the chip is in the vision area and impairs the drivers vision the windshield should be replaced. GOOD LUCK and hopefully you get satisfaction!

I had a chipped windshield on a CPO car that was in my line of vision. The dealer replaced it with an OEM windshield. I have also bought 9 Lexus vehicles from them of which 7 were new and 2 certified.

This type of thing needs to go on a "we owe" worksheet from the sales department. The salesman has no idea and wants to get you out of the door. I'm sure he had no recollection of your conversation either.
