90k service on the ls460 today!!
Hey fellas,
I'm getting the 90k service done today at North Miami Lexus as we speak. It is gonna cost me about $800.00. Unfortunately, whats done is done. But, i knew it was necessary. However a few questions:
1. the service adviser recommended that I get a throttle body flush for $250.00. I refused for the time being as i need to consult with you guys (the real experts). What are your thoughts?
2. the service adviser also recommended that I get new brakes for the front and back for $299.00 each. Approx $600.00 in total. Any recommendations, comments, concerns?
***please note: Money is a major issue, but so is the longevity of my 2007 LS ***
Thanks guys,

1. In my opinion the only thing that is getting flushed is your money down the toilet.
2. Whatever you do, specify Akebono pads. I got that recommendation here on this forum and its the best advice I ever got. I never even have to wash my wheels any more!

That's a lot of money for a 90K service. $250 is a lot for a little throttle body cleaning. I assume they just take a throttle body cleaner and run it through the throttle body. Not worth $250. Yes you could probably do the brakes yourself but brake jobs are not something I recommend for just anybody to do. You're messing with your life and others if it's not done correctly. It's nice to have things done at the dealer for a resale point. Many people when buying cars want to make sure the car was maintained correctly by the dealer. If you don't care about that I'd maybe look into a lesser expensive car repair place that has experience with Lexus vehicles.

Too late lol. My total bill came out to 742.00 w/ the oil change as well. I'm not comfortable doing it myself ... But thanks for the advice. Indeed the brake job ASAP!!
(I will look into the brake pads)
Does anyone have a recommendation for someone they trust down here in south Florida?
