replacement for oem tires for ls 460
Looking for a good replacement tire for the OEM Bridgestone Turanza's on my 2010 ls460.
Looking at Dunlop, Continental, Michelin, Pirelli. Bridgestones only lasted 25k miles. Any suggestions?

I recently replaced the OEM tires on my 2007 LS460 with Michelin Latitude tires. The ride is smooth and quiet and no pull to either side (symetrical tread) and a real improvement from the Bridgestone Touranza EL42s: http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...FWGnPAod0V8APg

Tire Rack OEM tires listed here for the LS460

I recently had dealer install Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 all around. They are quiet and smooth. Removed a set of noisy Goodyear GTs. Can't give experience on tire wear though.
I had a set on Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on my Avalon. Road noise increased with age and after 20k miles it was significant with those, but they did well in heavy rain at highway speeds.

Bridgestone Serenity
After about 20 k on factory Dunlop tires I had Bridgestone Turenza Serenity tires installed and currently have 35k on them . They were a big improvement over the factory tires as far as ride and noise the reason I chose them was Tire Rack gave them the best revues and still does. I think I can still get another 5k out of these tires before they will need replacement .
I notice Michelin is the favored tire on this forum yet Tire Rack shows the Bridgestone Serenity to be the tire of choice I am confused.

Tires
Maybe the users recommend the "Michelin" because they are tried and true. Tire Rack generally makes their decisions based on tech data. I have been strictly a Michelin user since back in the late 80's, and have never had a problem and they get great mileage because they have more tread on them than most other tires.

I wouldn't put those tires on an LS...
Its a shame you cant get the Primacy MXV4 in that size...

I did a lot or research before choosing the Michelin Latitudes and I remain very pleased with them. Consumer Reports rates them higher, overall, than the Primacy MXV4.

If you don't have to deal with snow, the best tire I ever used on all my cars that had them available for their sizes is the GoodYear F1-GS-D3 - hands down one of the quietest tires on the market and perhaps the best on wet road grip. They are not cheap, but they are excellent.

I've got the tires...they're okay but I would never purchase them again for my Jeep, let alone an LS.

I have about 23,000 on my Pirelli P Zero Nero tires and they have been great. I bought them because for the past couple years they were top rated for wet traction by both Tire Rack and Consumer Reports. I tend to drive as fast in wet weather as in dry so this was the most important factor for me. However, I will say that they are a tad noisier than most other brands.
Interestingly, I just looked at Tire Rack's latest test and these tires are now rated at the bottom of the 4 tested for wet traction. I'm wondering if they changed their tread pattern.

I had the original Bridgestone 18 inch tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Spots A/S at just over 20,000 miles.
At the time I chose the Pilot Sports because they had a 45,000 mile wear warranty. They were great in the rain, but the car had a pull to the right with these tires. A four wheel alignment could not fix the problem. They wore down to the wear bars after only 24,000 miles. I am not an aggressive driver.
I received a $500 credit from Michelin and had the Michelin Energy Savers A/S installed about 800 miles ago. They are much quieter than the Pilot Sports, are good in the rain and have a 55,000 mile wear warranty.
Hopefully they will wear better than the Pilot Sports.
