Pretty exciting - after lurking for years here, my girlfriend is getting an 09 AWD

Yes. I actually set up 2 Meet and Drive's a year here in the Rockville MD area. Such fun. At the last one we had 2 months ago, a new guy showed up in his Porsche version of an LS 460. Looks OK in bright red...
By girlfriend didn't love the looks of the car and thought the back seat was a bit tight.
Oh, and by the way, I really tried to talk her into getting a Noble Spinal Mica LS 460 but the burgundy color didn't call to her. And, there weren't any at Lexus dealers anywhere close to us.
Dark grey should be a cool color for her though...

FYI re. AWD problems
I have just had this TSB applied to my 2011 LS and I am feeling pretty confident that this finally fixes the AWD transmission vibration problem. On inclines at speeds around 60 MPH under slight acceleration I would get quite severe vibration that was even noticeable to passengers. After this TSB was applied I could not detect any vibration.
I think I need take more time to be sure this is a permanent fix because when I first picked up this 2011 I could not feel any vibration but after about 4000 miles the car was vibrating worse than my 2009. I suspect that this was a result of changes to the transmissions's shifting algorithm after "learning" my driving behavior.
But if this fix does work it will have solved a problem that has plagued my ownership experience since June 2010.
Again many thanks to Road Rage for originally posting this TSB

I forgot to post here, so much has happened. She DID get the car and LOVES it. That's an understatement. She reads the manual for hours a week, pointing out all the features as she reads. We still can barely work the nav and some other functions on the car but all in all, it's killer. Not loving all the bell noises that the nav makes but I'm guessing we can tweak that bell to "ding" less or not at all.
This car blows away my 12 year old BMW 740i. It rides very floaty but I still love this luxo-barge. She's crazy about it too. She lives in an apartment with no hose to clean it with so I'm super bummed about that. She's going to start taking it to ... an automatic car wash. Ughhhhh. Must ... let... this ... go. My OCD is kicking in. I can't be there to clean it for her at my house since we live 45 minutes apart, 80 minutes or more in bad traffic.
We took some short trips in it and it's a great, comfortable boat. Short wheel base is perfect for her mostly city driving. She got it in Rockville - the dealer gave her a smoking deal on it too. She bought 2 extra years of Certified Pre owned warrant for a total of 5 years or something like that.

Truth is, I'd love to own this car. The color combo, the understated look of the dark grey, the wheels ain't bad for stock and the cabin is totally sumptuous for a Japanese car. IMHO this does NOT compare to my buddy's new 2012 Black/Black MB 550 with the $6500 AMG wheel set, but this car wasn't $105K, either. My buddy had an 08 Silver/Blk Lexus LS 460 for 2 years before getting his MB 550
A used 09 can be found, preowned, for a VERY reasonable fee. Shop till we drop is what we did, and it paid off. Her car doesn't have the Mark Levinson stereo but for the price, she had to go for it. There really weren't a lot locally that were certified and under $36k. I think she paid about $2k for the extra 2 year certified warranty.
Thanks to EVERYONE on this forum. Your posts have all been read by me and helped her/us to get this car. She paid, but I get to enjoy on the weekends when we're together. All the years I've lurked on here paid off for ... her .
