Hi guys! ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So I have been going through the 460/600h forum and have been searching through for posts about the hybrid system on the LS 600hL and the batteries and what not. I found a few threads, some saying the 600 doesn't really have any issues (though none were listed, so I have no idea what the issues might be). I did find one thread that said a new battery for the hybrid system is like $9,000 if I remember correctly, though it is covered under warranty for 10 years. Is it a major concern for the battery to be replaced?
I tried using the search function, but I am not sure if I am doing it right because I could not find any good threads stating common issues with the LS hybrid.
I am wondering if there are any common problems with the hybrid systems?
I am wanting to get a 2010 or 2011 LS hybrid, but I will be waiting a few years and am just trying to get as much info on whether I should go hybrid or just 460 L. (I just worry about the hybrid components and cost of repairing them.)
I am sorry if this is a repeated post. I know a lot of threads get repeated with the same questions, and I apologize if this is another one of those.

The government made sure consumers had no worries when it came to the hybrid batteries so they are protected by an extended warranty longer than most parts are covered in the car even the engine. I have never personally heard of any problems with the hybrid battery packs except one rare issue where one car caught on fire. Not sure if it was a result of the battery but its extremely rare. Think it was over seas too not in the US.
As far as the starter battery Ive had mine completly depleted and recharged without any issues. Lexus charges crazy price for it but you can replace it for a DieHard or Optima for 300 tops. Hope I answered any battery questions you had.
