just installed viper unit in my 2008 LS 460
i just finished installing a viper 5904 with smartstart/GPS unit. i specifically ordered a fortin bypass because it said it would do takeover, well it did not! im so pissed right now, fortin website says use the 2009 install guide for my 2008 LS460, i did and still no takeover" car shuts down when door opened" . job was completed and if i knew fortin would not do takeover i would have used an idatalink i had laying around, since i own and operate my own alarm/car audio shop. im gonna give fortin hell come monday
i did windows roll up with aux1 windows roll down with aux2 and aux3 for gas door release.
i also installed smartstart with GPS (that works great as well) i had smartstart in my previous IS 250 and left it in there when i traded in the car to the dealer(it still works lol) dealer says they will tell thier customer who buys the car to come see me to activate or takeover the account if they want to use smartstart, but they will have to pay me, that was the deal.
anyway its 12:24 am and i just came upstairs from my shop after putting the car together, soo tired and i gotta wake up and do 3 cars in about 9 hours.

i have the same alarm installed and i've been doing research about the takeover for over a year now... theres nothing out there....thats just how it is for most newer lexus and toyota vehicles... we have to deal with it for now .... i was even gonna install a relay to trick the door that it was closed still but its not a good idea...

I know your in the business so please excuse me if you already are aware:: but here is what Fortin site states on the 2009 Lexus LS 460 Push-to-Start
Controls the vehicle's ignition system through the PTS button. Includes active security by supervising the door locks and door pin status on all of the doors. Automatic key-takeover if the proximity key is detected within range, otherwise it will shut-down both the vehicle and the remote-starter.
THEY ARE OPEN SATURDAYS FOR TECH SUPPORT.
Report back with what they way.
