I'd jump on it but that's just my opinion. I'm looking for one now and 18k is a steal even with the mileage. Good luck in whatever you decide

My vote is do it! You seem to know all the facts and know your work relationship better than us so no brainer.

Thank you for replies. Yea I think it's hard to pass the deal. My boss also gave me service records for the service done on this car. He is not a car guy so he doesn't really know what's going on but he gave me those if it helps. Seems like he did 1) Did valve spring recall in 2010. 2) he changed brakes and tires few months ago. 11MM left on front + rear brake pads @ 120k. 3) tires are 7/32nds front and rear @120k. 4) replaced air filters and cabin air filter @ 125k. 5) replaced wiper insets and fuel injection service @ 130k. 6) replaced car battery @ 130k. 7) replaced left & right upper control arms #4. Replaced left and right lower control arms. Performed wheel alignment. Done in 08/12. 8) performed service w/plugs (is that spark plugs?), replaced trans, diff, coolant, and brake fluids @ 90k. 9) all drive belts, R&R @90k. 10) replaced brake actuator assy.
Looks pretty damn good lol. He really did all the maintenance every 5-6k. Car's mileage is going up to 140k ish so I gotta buy it quick lol.

based on the pricing i posted, you are getting this far below auction value. I think you have to do it

Kelly Blue book pricing for a 2008 LS 460 with 130,000 miles in excellent condition;

Retail = $21,610
Private party = 19,010
Trade in = $16,845

Based on your description of the service history and if it hasn't had any significant accident history then $18k-$19k or so is a very good deal.

130k + mile is very risky Yea, on a Fiat, not on this car. With 90 miles out of 100 on the highway this car isn't even breaking a sweat. My Inifinti Q45a has 180K miles and the engine isn't even broken in yet.

Based on your subsequent posts I would say go for it. It doesn't appear even if you had some problems it would not affect your work relationship. It really appears that your boss is trying to do you a favor. Even if something expensive did break, you are getting a great price to start with.

Actually, if you don't buy it, I'd be interested!

What are you waiting for!!! Buy it already!!

No, but seriously. $18k is a steal, buy it.

Like the above poster mentioned, 130k miles is not risky for a Toyota. LOL, LS's are known to run for 300k + miles. The LS is Lexus' cream and butter. My RX with 194k miles run's like new, and is just getting broken in.

My 04 LS430 has 190k, I did get a flat tire once. Brakes tires belts no unexpected repairs. Hope this helps.

This LS wont need any major work for another 100k miles. In your case thats 10-12 years. 250k is when things like alternators, radiators, starters go. I'm sure you wont keep this car til then.
