My LS460 L
I just got back from Carmax and they offered me 32k for my LS460l. She has 45k miles, dark blue, luxury package, parking, Nav, and Levison stereo. The paint is good condition except for a rock ship on hood. The inside is mint. Do you think this is a fair offer or do you guys think if I sell outright will I see more. I am located in chicago

that sounds low to me for a 2007. 6 months ago i sold my 2007 s550 with 65k miles and lightly optioned for 31k to carmax. given your mileage i would think you should get more.
unless the new 2013 is putting that big of a ding

If you're looking at just selling without purchasing a replacement car, keep trying to get other offers. I just bought a car long distance from McGrath Lexus in Chicago. Take yours there and see what they will offer. They currently have a CPO 2007 LS460L with 30k miles and equipped like yours listed for $42.9..
I just sold a Ford Expedition to local lexus dealer in Florida and was able to negotiate a price 20% higher than my CarMax offer for the Expedition.
If your looking to replace the car use the CarMax offer as trade in price. You'll save tax on the trade. What is tax rate in Chicago, like 9% or so? You pay tax on your residence address in Illinois.

The CarMax offer of $32k was not unreasonable. No hassle getting money, dealing with tire kickers, title transfer, paying off existing loan and possible issues with prebuy inspections. Drive it on and 30 minutes later you have a bank draft in your hand.
