Mine was Warranty Direct:
37/37 Xtra CarePlus
My mileage at inception: 50,100
Can not make a claim for 30 days and 1,000 miles - so you wind up with 36/36
Cost: $2,561.00 (I thought it was a little less, guess not)
Deductible - $100.00
Curtis English (thats who I dealt with - won't know me from beans I am sure)

is this warranty acceptable at a lexus dealer? does it have anything that it does not cover or is it like the lexus platinum warranty that covers it all?

Extended warrantees are by definition a rip off. Roughly 80% of the cost of the deal is profit for the seller, so do the math on what it takes to actually cover the car. also, the extended warrantee business is one of the most complained about due to lack of coverage. If you must buy one, you better really know what it covers. "Bumper to Bumper" has many definitions. Plus we are talking about one of the most worry free cars out there. If you are really that paranoid, you are MUCH better off putting what you would pay in the bank and use it should you ever have a problem.

i totally get your point, but i have heard that these cars have problems with control arms and these are like 4 grand to replace... sooooo that is the warranty money right there..

There are two considerations that concern the OP which you appear to be making light of:

1. The OP is talking about a vehicle that "by definition" is high mileage which EVEN LEXUS refuses to warranty.

2. This "most worry free car" is also one of the most expensive with respect to parts and labor repair costs for things that DO go wrong. ML amp ($1,100), brake actuator ($3,000), control arms ($2k-$4k), etc.

How do you recommend purchasers of vehicles Lexus refuses to warranty protect themselves from the high cost of repairs?

Control Arms may become cheaper through aftermarket resources soon enough.

I got mine when I bought the car. I figured for what the coverage was (very inclusive) and the low deductible, I was fine. I am looking at it as catastrophic insurance only. I figured it would be just my luck to buy the car and something go out on it and any little thing would be more than the cost of the warranty. Whether they honor the warranty or not, whether a Lexus dealer can do the work, I just take my chances. I can argue and fight with the best of them and I would rather have it than not.

I've never bought an extended warranty on a Toyota, Honda or Subaru vehicle that I've owned. I guess I'm lucky since I've had no issues with any of my long term vehicles. Most Lexus vehicles have good reliability.

Is this a good deal? keep in mind, my car is over 50k miles already so i will never get the crazy $1800 extended warranty many of guys get.
Is this a good deal for my 2009 lexus ls460? or do you think it is way too high and these cars hardly have problems to justify spending $4,000 dollars?
i would like to get your advice

thanks in advance!
i bought it i got it for 3500 and my first claim was $7700 in repairs soo you be the judge

We're talking about a warranty for repairs, not insurance for accidents. There's a difference. Of course we all need insurance. You don't have a car breakdown that needs $30K in repairs. That's an accident which insurance covers.

There are many types of insurance. Repair warrantys are an insurance against repair costs if necessary.
