I bought a 4yr/48K mile warranty from my CU for 1300 dollars with a 100 dollar co-pay.
First time I used it, I had 2 control arms, an air strut and a blower motor replaced under warranty. Bill was almost 3X the cost of the warranty.
Service advisor told me they were pretty easy to work with.
