Will be getting a LS soon. spent a lot of time in Tustin Lexus' 2009 LS. The driver seat is great. Is the '10 (and Up ) LS have any changes to the driver's seat ?
Really want to pick up a '10 with less than 40k miles for under $40K ( just price ) ... this summer
Most likely from 1 of the LA stores. santa monica, thousand oaks, woodland hills, van nuys, oxnard, beverly hills
or also westminster, tustin, south county/mission viejo, south bay, Longo, Newport, Crown or Riverside

Oh..and if they had a 6 or 7 speed manual gearbox on a GS..it would be something to consider because as a daily..the GS to me is sport and needs a manual gearbox option terribly

Interior and trunk space, smoother ride, less interior noise, etc. I test drove a new GS while my LS was in for service. It is still a bit cramped inside and the ride is stiff with a bit of road noise.

because I had a GS350 before and the trunk was miserably small. I have two small kids and need some room. In the end we always take my wife's SUV but at 6'5" its cool to have a car where my head doesn't touch the headliner when I hit bumps of dips

new 2012 LS460 = 2013 GS350
I went to the dealer with the intent of looking at a GS350. They had a couple of 2012 LS460s left so I test drove both. Incomparable ride and comfort. LS was true luxury. They were heavily discounting the LS and not dealing much with the 2013 GS. So I got the LS460 (brand new) in the mid 60s. List was high 70s with options. No brainer!

I don't think the OP is a troll. Been here for 3 years...60 posts...

i am not a troll.. i am here and reading all posts. The reason why i have asked this is because i bought my ls460 3 weeks ago. I was looking at a corvette grand sport or a z06 ( i am former z06 owner) for the past six months, but the prices were not within reach. i ended up seeing the ls460 in the lot so i test drove it. I was looking to trade in my is250 so the difference in size was perfect. It has more power, class, gadgets, and more presence. I got it for $33500.00 and it is an 09 with 64k miles. It came with the LS600 headlights and it was in what i still consider the best color combination of black exterior with black interior/cherrywood panels. The vette was going to cost me $714/month with 5 down, and the lexus ended up costing me $536/month with 5 grand down. My insurance dropped a little bit from the is250 to the ls460 (i am 33 years old) and i am pleased overall. Of course, i am notorious for knit picking, and so far i can mention a few things that i dont like about it in the 3 weeks of ownership. One of them is the brakes. I feel like the brakes are always making a scraping noise when i am in traffic and moving at 5mph with my foot on the pedal. The mechanic said it is probably the rotors that need to be turned (we will see if it does go away when i do this). Another thing is i hate the slapping sound that i hear in the front end. Some users have called it "brake piston slap" and from my own research i heard this can be something "normal" in these vehicles and that it does not affect the car's performance in any shape or form.
I had considered buying a 3rd party warranty since i was (still am) a bit nervous about all the control arms problems some of you have reported. The fix supposedly cost $4,000 so that is always on the back of my head. However, based on the full inspection my mechanic did on the car, he said my car seems pretty solid. He said, that it was simply wayy too much money for the warranty. In his experience, one of the most common problems on these cars are the ML amp and the ac compressors. That is pretty much it. Of course, there are other issues such as suspension issues with the long body version etc, etc,
Overall, i am paying $98 dollars a month more than what i was paying on my is250. Sometimes i wonder if i should have just purchased a CPO newer GS so i would be not as worried (this is the reason why i started his thread) however, here in miami, you dont see many ls460s. You see gs, is250, all sorts of mercedez, bmw's acuras, etc, but i can go a week and count with ONE HAND how many ls460s i have seen. I see as many toyota corollas as i see GS models... Simply put, i bought it because it is rare and not common. :-)

Quite frankly, I would not even consider a 3GS. I liked the 2GS a lot, and obviously I love my 4GS, but the 3GS to me just never quite did it. I like the styling, but the interior, handling and ride and drive were just lacking to me. The 4GS is an incredible improvement over the 3GS.
I personally don't like used cars, but if you're going used already you might as well go ahead and get the LS over a year or so newer GS or ES.
The LS is unquestionably the ultimate Lexus. If you asked me why I got a GS over the LS, the answer is obvious, its $25,000 less.
The LS is pretty common here, it all depends on where you live. I see more LS's then I do GS's.
