why did you get a LS and not GS??

Quite frankly, I would not even consider a 3GS. I liked the 2GS a lot, and obviously I love my 4GS, but the 3GS to me just never quite did it. I like the styling, but the interior, handling and ride and drive were just lacking to me. The 4GS is an incredible improvement over the 3GS.
I personally don't like used cars, but if you're going used already you might as well go ahead and get the LS over a year or so newer GS or ES.
The LS is unquestionably the ultimate Lexus. If you asked me why I got a GS over the LS, the answer is obvious, its $25,000 less.
The LS is pretty common here, it all depends on where you live. I see more LS's then I do GS's.

I've owned Lexus vehicles for so long and I've had enough of them, I know reliability is going to be fine.

i have never seen a GS that i can say daaaaaaaaamn that is nice. Most of them have wheels around here so they are too common. I have only seen like 2 ls460s with rims around me.

Wow, I'm actually surprised the GS is compared to the LS or was even crossed shopped. Two completely different class of cars. If you have 85,000 to spend on a car then a 50 something thousand car is rarely on your radar.
In the used car market the price difference is lot closer maybe 5000-+ difference for comparable cars (year/miles/options) but then there is still the v6 vs v8 and size issue. Unless you put the GS460 in the mix where the price is even less minimal but you still get more bang for your buck with the LS.
If I start playing with years/miles/options, I can get a 09 LS with over fifty thousand miles for 35000 or 2011 GS350 with less than thirty miles for the same price.
What I'm articulating here is that the LS would always win over the GS cause there are too much variables when comparing the two cars.
