climate control/ blend door motor issue
Was on my way to get an oil change at my buddies shop. Started hearing a clicking sound. My climate controls no longer will respond. the Auto button is lit up but I can't turn the air off. I get hot air from the vents. When the clicking does stop the system goes back to working order. My friend checked it out and says the clicking is from the blend door motor.
Anyone else had this issue.

By any chance did you change your cabin air filter recently?

No i didn't change the cabin filter. I did read about the recirculating button and not to force the door open or it can damage it. I thought maybe the previous owner might have damaged it, but I had the car for about a month before this clicking noise started and I did ended up checking the cabin filter recently (whenever the a/c system is cooperating) and it seems fine.

So far we have narrowed the problem down to the Servo Sub Assembly. I think there are 3 different types of Servos in the LS. I believe two on the passenger side and one on the driver side. Servo 87106.
A common problem with these servos is this

going to attempt the fix in a few weeks.

took the servo motor out and the motor was not the issue. Seems to be the door that the motor controls is not seating properly, but on a lighter note since taking the motor out and putting it back in the door seats properly after about 30 seconds, it was better than not working at all. been reading a bit and people have said that it could possible be the blend door not seating properly. one guy took to dealer and it cost $1700 due to taking apart dash and etc. ouch not sure if I want to do that, but man does the initial clicking bother the hell out of me. I'm a perfectionist and i like my car to be perfect. I'll update when i figure things out.

Just wanted to update. Looks like the clicking issue has been resolved. The clicking noise was actually due to the servo motor. Servo 87106 looks like the car is equipped with several different versions of it and my mechanic had a hard time communicating with the parts dept which one he needed. After several contacts and photos sent to them it has been resolved. I am still getting the short delay/ AC initialization issue though. At least I'm not annoyed by the clicking. At this point not sure if it's a software issue, but I have seen several others that have had this AC initialization delay or the AC resetting on them every time they turn off the cars for several minutes.
Have also read that it could be due to the cabin filter being installed incorrectly and that the filter is seated incorrectly. I will attempt to check the cabin filter again. Due make sure that if you are checking your cabin filter to have the AC system button on recirculate before checking filter.
