Default Considering a '07 460 - Your thoughts/recommendations - Updated with New LS Info

Hi folks, I have been a CL member for quite a while. In 2011 I sold my '02 LS430 and bought a 2008 GS350, I love the car but am considering a change.

I came across a 2007 LS460, with ML/Navi at a local Lexus dealer. The car as 80k miles and is priced at 27,900. I may go and check it out this afternoon.

I put on average 400 miles a week on my car. I am a little concerend on the mileage of this car but in looking at the prcing it appears to be a decent deal for the Northeast. (BTW my GS has 89K miles)

Any advice for what to look for? I ran the VIN through Mylexus, appears all services were done including the valve spring recall.

Thanks in advance.

I would say check to make sure all of the goodies (buttons) in the car are working properly. Then i would definetly do a test drive and listen for any strange noises beyond the normal. If it has air suspension i would ask the dealer for a detailed report on the service history ( they can provide that for free ) this is just to see if the car has had any replacement suspension work done. And if everything checks out and it looks to be well cared for then I would definetly purchase it (with an extended warranty of course)

If you find one that has low mileage and a good history of services and recalls, you can't go wrong.

I own a 2007 since new. It has 37K miles now, and it has been superb, no issues whatsoever, granted I've been on top of all recalls, and the service history since new has been done by my dealer. In fact, I though about selling it a while back but it's not worth it. I can't find another car on the same level for the price I'd get by selling it, so I'm keeping it.

Search with no rush, and right the car will show up for you.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Good news here is that I am in no rush and have no pressure. I think I may pass on this one given the mileage and continue to search. Will let you know when and if I pull the trigger.

Look for LS in the New York/ New Jersey area, they have the best prices based on Cargurus. I bought my LS up there.

I would actually stay away from NY or NJ for now. You get a lot of "Sandy" damaged cars. Be very careful.

I saw quite a few in fla so that may be an option, i definately want to go CPO. I am going to try and sell my GS first vs. trade in. I sold my last LS on autotrader with no issues, maybe I will have the same luck.

listen for wind noise and take a long test drive to evaluate for seat discomfort. Also check you aux jack to see if you get a whining noise when the ipod is plugged in

I just purchased an 07 with 50k on the clock. I brought the silver and grey package from carmax inventory in Arizona, one owner, non smoker, no hits. Car came in clean. I have owned 4 other LSs over a 12 year span. This is my favorite style wise and for raw power my 98 would be the winner.

I smile every day I walk up the mirrors unfold and the puddle lights come on to welcome me back!

I paid 31k. Got 11k for my 05 that needed tires, paint work on the hood, a timing belt, and a NAV disk.

Default Pulled the trigger on an 08

I was able to sell my GS through a private party sale, the day I was going to meet the prospective buyer one of those side bar ads popped u on my browser with an 08 at a Toyota dealer. Once I sealed the deal on the GS I bough the LS.

Car is very clean, Obsidian w/Cashmere, ML, comfort package etc... Only 29K miles. Came with 2 year 24K warranty.

Car is in need of a good detail which I will do once the heat wave breaks. Will try to post some pics later.

Thanks to all of you that contribute to this forum, the sharing of your collective knowledge and experience is a invaluable asset and was a great help in my search.
