Remote Start for 2014 LS 460??

port installed RS sucks... dealer installed is better. or you can have an audio electronics shop install a Viper system for you. dealer installed RS will probably be a pursuit/audiovox. atleast the car won't shut off when you open the door after remotely starting it, as opposed to the port installed RS which will shut the car off as soon as you open the door or trunk etc...

Lexus tech at dealer said Port installs same OEM remote start as they do. Also talked to Technology Specialist at dealer and he confiremed, Port and dealer install same Remote Start.
Maybe they could be wrong?
They also said, if I get Aftermarket Remote Start/Alarm, Lexus will void my warranty?

This has been the subject of discussion in other posts. The consensus was, I believe, that Lexus could void your warranty ONLY if it can be established beyond any reasonable doubt that the aftermarket part was a direct cause of any problem for which you are seeking warranty coverage.

I have the OEM remote start and it works ok but not what I envisioned. I like it because it works with the factory fob but that is about it. The range isn't all that great and it is hit or miss whether it works the first time I try to activate it (push the lock button once and push it again and hold until it starts). It also turns off when you open the door. Like others have said, aftermarket remote starts are way better with way better range. The invoice price is only around $200 so it wasn't a big deal to me to get it but I never use it anymore anyway.

So if I don't go the OEM route for Remote Start, who makes the best one to use??
I have a Viper Remote Start/Alarm in my Ford F-250. It has a long range and when I get close to vehicle, I hit the unlock button, Climb in and stick the key ignition and turn to start, then touch the brake and put truck in gear. If you hit the brake upon entering, truck will shut off.
One thing I hated about my 12 Range Rover Sport with keyless entry, no remote start. I think only one company made a remote start and it was complicated to install and you had to hide a key fob inside the car and leave it permanently for the remote start to work.

no one currently lists a solution for the 14' LS.. but a viable solution is in the works.. i'd wait til after CES...
FYI they cant void a vehicles warranty unless its undeniable that the aftermarket product caused an issue.. also if they product is removed the warranty is back in effect.....

RX currently offers RES+, a next-gen version that seems promising. It's currently the only vehicle to offer it, so I wonder if it's coming to the others very soon, especially since I've seen the current version of RES discontinued for some vehicles.

the range on the port installed RS sucks, but the range on the dealer installed RS is so much better. warranty will not be voided if the dealer installs it, and if someone else installs it then there has to be proof that the AM RS caused a problem, after you uninstall it your warranty is back in affect. i've had the dealer install RS on 2 ES and 1 GS and i liked them a lot. if you want the viper with paging option early warning etc... then go for it.

I talked to dealer tech and Technology specialist at dealer. They said RS is the same at port and dealer. Technician suggested to go ahead and get it installed before coming to the dealer.

slap the tech that told you that... if you opt for port installed you will be pissed. i've had the dealer installed RS in 3 cars and 1 port installed, trust me when i tell you the port installed option sucks... badly. dealer installed RS is audivox/pursuit, the port may use audiovox/pursuit, but which one? there are many versions.
