I've been looking for about 4 months and red all i can about the LS460 awd. I needed an awd for winter driving, it is a must coming from the ES350. But, too commun to see air suspension failures, including in a car that i was interested when i saw the maintenance listing to find out the the rear syspensions were replaced a low mileage.
So, my BIG question is is there a LS460 awd WITHOUT air suspension ? what year ? To have an ease of mind, i need to something as reliable as my ES.
thank you for your help to point me out to the right car.

I purchased my 2012 LS AWD with numerous options and without Air Suspension. I too was looking for one equipped that way. At that time the dealer had three different ones so equipped. It was just a matter of selecting the best color option for me.

So my quest have to wait then, i really wanted the best lexus available this year after my ES, had to choose between the 2009-2010, but awd have air suspension. I have to wait until end of 2014 for the return less of the 2011, then find the perfect 2011 awd with a loaded options, then it is a buy. My ES has been good to me, zero issues, hope that the LS is equally satisfactory.
My other option is buy the 2009-2010 very cheap enough to save a few thousand in bank in case the air suspension failed. That option will let me enjoy the car sooner.
Let see.

Every AWD car that I test drove when I went looking had the air suspension and more then one had one or more units replaced. These were cars that had low miles. Also the AWD version was sluggish and when you went to make a tight radius turn you can here the velocity joints.
I stayed away from both and now I'm happy.

Folks are all up in arms about the air suspension but keep in mind the amount of posts on CL about air suspension is because they had an issue with it and searched on the internet and arrived on CL. But, the overwhelming majority of LS owners are not members of CL and never had an issue. I have spoken to many Lexus technicians and the they say the rate of cars coming in for air suspension issues is very minimal. Forums like CL can skew the perception because the folks having issues are the one's who usually come on here talking abou their issue..just another way to look at this
