iVici AND Prestigioussociety
I just got my '07 last week. I was the guy that paid an exorbitant amount of 42k with 7400 miles. Well I'm here to tell you that the sales guy wasn't lying. This thing is pristine. It looks, drives, and smells almost new. Still has the wrapper on the floor mats. Very very happy with it.
My question is that I want to get the iVic-i AND Prestigioussociety for disabling the lock-out features and also getting iPhone 5 with iOS 7 capabilities. Is this redundant or do I need both for full maximization of what I looking for?
PS I'm page 25 of 1200 of the manuals. Lot's to learn about the capabilities and I love it.
Thanks

the ps override allows you to access all navigation menus when driving. if you have ml then the unit allows you to play dvd video when car is moving
the ivic-i is iphone integration and allow apps / audio / video to play from your phone through the factory system. if you want video to play from iphone when car is moving, you need to punch in a code if you don't have ps override. if you have ps override, you can use that system and you won't need to punch in code
but if you don't have ps override, even if you have ivic-i, you still won't be able to access nav menus or watch dvd (from factory system) when driving

Hey sarantis, in the scheme of things paying a little more for something you are really happy with is no big deal. If you lost the car because you tried to get it cheaper you would end up kicking yourself.

Be careful, as I mentioned in my write up on the IVIC, there are a ton of fakes out there. Amazon was selling fakes that look dead on real but when you feel the weight of a real MHL adapter vs the fake, its like night and day. The real one is much heavier due to the shielding the fakes leave out. I went to best buy and bought one and paid about $35 iirc

yes mhl is very important and you need to make sure you get one that works for your phone. quite a few customers of mine went with the cheap route and they got burned. that's money you don't want to risk.
for ivic, you need mhl, hdmi, and usb charging cable (optional)
for ivic-i, you need lightning digital av, lightning cable, and hdmi
all those not included in the package from vaistech
