Just got off the phone with my local dealer parts guy. They have the kit in stock, going to have them perform the TSB before I pick up my car on Feb. 21.
these came stock on the car and it would cost me $6000 to change them. I would do it again if I had to choose. I do not drive the 460 like a sports car but I am happy to have the better brakes. Anyway I wont spend 6000 because of the squeal.
I did not realize that it would cost even close to that to change to the regular LS brakes.
And would not even consider it until it needed new brakes.
I have about 6 months before I will need new brakes and I have to decide what to do with my 2011 sport.
On one hand I hate to take way anything that is advertized as an upgrade. But on the other hand I have never heard anyone complain about the stopping power of the regular LS 460 brakes.
I think Lexus designed the regular brakes to be top quality and more than sufficient for the car.
I also find the brembos to be a little too touchy for me. And again think Lexus has always had good R & D to make good brakes on their own.
8 days later, epic failure. The fix moved the squeal from a 5mph speed to about 10mph and much louder. Looks like I will have to install the Stoptech or similar non OEM pads. What a pain.
Have you gone back to Lexus and asked what they will do. They replaced my pads and rotors and it did improve the squeal somewhat but it's still there. I don't think lexus has a solution.
I'm very impressed with the brembos on the LS. People complained about the GS F-Sport brakes (they are not brembo) and offers a TSB with a Chang of pads. My wife made note of squealing and they changed to new ones and no issues since.

Hey will they check out the 2014? TSB is 2010-2013.
Here we go again, took my 2011 LS 460 sport to Lexus for the brake pad upgrade per TSB. This will be the 3 rd set of pads Lexus has installed. Hope this is the answer, I wiil advise.
Lexus installed the upgraded Brembo brake pads and after 1200 miles no squeal. Maybe they have finally found a fix. I hope so, I will keep you advised.
