Default ML audio in 07/08 search yea or nay?

Looking for an 07 or 08, and wondering how much better the ML system is. I realize that there are 19 vs 10 speakers. Are there tweeters on the upper doors with the ML system? I don't see them in the stock one. Seems like the ML amp fails more often than the stock. Is it worth looking for the car with the ML or could I achieve the same or better results with the stock system and upgrade an amp or the front speakers?

get the ML, it's a far superior system than the stock premium system. it's mark levinson reference system and it really performs. i agree on the amp, but i think it's still a good price to pay

not to mention with the ML you get dvd changer and you can play dvd too

and here you go on the system. i don't think the tweeters are on the upper door (front), they are on the dash towards the sides. for the rear doors i think they are on the door

Go for ML the system is designed to work in it's environment, and upgrading later may not provide the desired effect.

My 2007 L amazes me every day with the incredible sound it puts forth!

ML or nothing as far as I'm concerned. Just get the 19, you will be glad you did

To echo everyone else, definitely get the ML system if you can. I've had LS loaners that did not have ML system and the sound system does not come close.

When I shop for a new/used Lexus, ML is THE first thing I look for. Not only for the sound quality, but like rominl said, ML allows you to play and view dvd in motion, at least with the pre-13 models.

avmiii, I'm not going against the consensus here, but I would tell you to listen to both systems as you shop. If you find the ML system indispensable then go for it. If it doesn't make a difference for you, then just go for the best deal regardless.

to be exact, the ml system has dvd changer and can play dvd, but when the car is in motion, the video is displayed unless you have the override

GO ML!!! I refused to get anything without it and I'm glad I held out. It is simply the best sounding system I've ever heard. Truly breathtaking, crystal clear sound....at ANY volume.
