Answer:
and how it works:
Lane Keep Assist With Lane Departure Warning
....and...IT'S WORKING .....even with the LED headlights on ....
...but...no LKA light...or lanes... in the display...
have to find a way to install a small LED light in the button to show when it's on .....
Took me 30 minutes to install it .. 2 covers removed, 4 bolts taken off, and 1 connector disconnected...and the other way to install
Don't forget to remove the negative connector on the battery :-)
Bought at JP-Carparts.com ..in Kyoto, Japan.....best price I found for the part..
Part number (at least for my car) : 84240-50090
Part Name: SWITCH ASSY, STEERING PAD, W/MODULATOR originally used for 2009/11 - and up LS 600 UVF46 w/ DMO&*PB&*RPCS&*STC

Hi,
It's working with the stereo cameras above the rear view mirror
http://www.toyota-global.com/innovat...ctive/lka.html
And the system also use the infrared light part from from high-beam headlights .....according to the information from the next link...even if the high-beam headlights are on..or off ...??????????......
Look here: http://www.ciw.com/example2/overview.htm
Press the : Hybrid CH & BE tab
Press the : Pre-collision System tab
Press the: Type 2 tab
Press the: Headlight with Near-Infrared Projector
and read.....
if this is really installed and working on the 2007-2009 LS 600...???? I don't know and I have found no other informations on it before I found this VERY NICE application online a few weeks ago :-)
...much more interresting things are shown in this app...press the tabs all over ..and I'm sure You will learn something new too ;.)
As You can see of this info... Lexus had it ready in 2007/8 in the LS600, but decided to not use it... They said then that the LKA system would not work with the LED headlight because they they did not have the near-infrared light part as that off the normal Halogen or Xenon headlights that would also light up the road lines...
But as You can read here in the app.... The High Beam contains a retractable, visible ray-cut filter...This allows near-infrared rays used by the object recognition camera to pass through even when the high beams is not needed... I have really gone close on my lamps...but can't see OR find any ray-cut filter in them...
But one thing I do know.... the system IS working 100% at daytime with the LED headlight on...and i most cases also at night.... rode several miles on a lit highway one night...and then it worked also 100% at night....but it could also be that the highway lighting has a part of near-infrared light in them that did this...I have no clue..... but I'm happy anyways :-)

By the small of pull in the steering wheel and it also sound an alarm if I start to come near the side markings on the road.... If I ride fast enough (ca. 45mph) and try to leave the lane (without making a lane changing signal)...it will also beep...and the LKA will turn off if I change lane then....if I use the signal...no problems to leave the lane... If I am driving in a lane , it will steer to keep me in the middle of the lane...also on a road with small bends ....

Funny I remember an old thread not too long ago about you or someone else that was going to try this on an older car and wondered what ever happened to it. Looks like it works as suspected. What options do you have to have on your car to make this work?
