I'm just glad everyone here used the term "chime". Usually whenever someone uses the awful term "buzzer" in this day and age it says more about their age and times gone by and I have to smile a bit out of respect.

well yes, the beep is the same as it was on my LS430 with the little **** by the gas pedal. I make sure it's as loud as possible.

Or you can just reach down with your left hand when the chime starts and press the little rubber button that the door closes against for the interior light and that will stop it instantly ...works in other cars too

You can defeat the belt chime in the personal settings. In the 2010+ it's a simple affair. Pre-2010 the dealer has to do it (but easy enough). Mine is defeated, I love not having the chime as I know if I do or do not have on my seat belt ... I don't need a chime.
As for the outside buzzer, yeah it's loud. I think this volume can be reduced by a little **** in the right knee bolster area. You have to get down on the floor and look up to see it.

what do you mean by personal settings ? i have an NX, how can i defeat the belt chime ? in my previous 3rd Gen GS i could do i little trick posted in this forums with the odo button and it would go away .. but now i cannot find a way .. can you please help me out ..
