Lexus fluid was used. 2 months and less than 5,000 miles the trans failed.

I never heard of a fluid lasting forever but I know these guys and trust what they say. Also the fluid has characteristics of a hydraulic fluid rather than a trans fluid.
Strange no failures reported with LX470 owners that require WS fluid and fluid exchanged and vehicles have gone on for another 100k miles. These are not mall cruisers, off road use, etc. the recommendation you got from that shop does not seem logical?? Even Lexus recommends the fluid changed if severe use of the vehicle. But on the other hand I have never read any threads where a LX470 had a transmission failure in a transmission for a 2003 or newer LX470.
