Default Vais i-vic

Just bought a 2007 SWB. I'm looking to get the I-VIC D(?). The problem is I just got an HTC One M8. I know it is not fully compatible. I wonder if anyone knows the extent of it's incompatibility and if I would have to get a MHL adapter.

I am not being snarky but try asking the Vaistech guys at vaistech.com. They have been very helpful to me but I gave an iPhone and can't help you.

I would not take it personal, if a active member here had an HTC smartphone I'm site they would have posted or help to troubleshoot your issue. Also members are curious to read about your issue and resolution even if it does not apply to them, last like all forums you have lurkers who view threads as well. I think the advice Travisbjr is your best recourse for a resolution, please post your findings when you get it resolved so it can help others and good luck!

Not to hijack this thread...

I was wondering several things and would like some feedback on the IVIC-5I

I have a 2010 Using an IPhone 5S

Would this connection be better sounding than using my Bluetooth?
I primarily use Pandora.

Is the 350.00 worth it for the limited features of this?
Direct connect for Pandora and other music from an IPhone
Address book...doesn't work with Lexus Voice recognition.
Maps...don't think it's very useful
Calendar...not useful
Weather...same thing, not sure if I would ever use this

So, for 350.00 you basically get a direct connect cable for music and pandora.

Am I missing something here?
Anyone care to comment who has it?

I also have a 5S using the IVIC. Mine is jailbroken. I run in the HDMI mode and listen to Audible, Pandora via the iphone apps., play music videos and with a blue tooth mouse app (cydia app) and a landscpe mode app I can select any app without looking at the iPhone ( I do have to look at the screen). The sound is great. I can run the google maps with the satellite overlay and recieve real time traffic with up to date maps. Activating the accessibility under the Settings-General on the iphone allow you to retun to the home screen from the mouse curser without using the home button.
I also switch back to yhe app mode to access the phone contacts and yhe map app there or use the installed Pandora app. Is in worth the investment, it was for mt as I have a 2007 with only an aux jack. Now I keep my phone charged, listen to my music all via the lightning cable. The phone still works thru the car bluetooth and since I had a old android phone I was able to transfer all my iphone contacts to the car (synced them both with google contacts). So, yes I am very happy and hopefully Vaistech will update the firmware with the apple CarPlay when Apple allows.

Hope this helps, Travis

Glad you got your issue explained and followed back up in your thread bringing closure (sorta).

I would check eBay or Gazelle for unloved S3's etc.

Be patient and keep looking on here. Took me a couple months to find mine. I also ended up getting an S3 for it. While it takes some time to figure out settings and stuff on the ivic, it is worth the wait.
