Default Need Some LS460 Model Info

New member here. This looks like the most active of the Lexus (Lexi?) forums. I am planning to purchase a used LS460 in the next 4-6 months and have some basic questions:
Was there a "refresh" of the LS460 in the 2013 model year? Or did it happen in 2012?
What was changed in the "refresh" when it was done?
Is that when the **** was added for controlling the screens?
How were things controlled before the ****?
I'm sure that I will have other Qs - but this will do for starters.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The major refresh was done late 2012 for 2013, to stretch out life of the LS due to other Lexus models being released, Lexus model calendar yr is fall to next fall.

-What was changed in the "refresh" when it was done?

Lexus changed over 3000 parts and did some chassis/reinforced frame work.

-Is that when the **** was added for controlling the screens?

Lexus added the mouse in 2013 models.

-How were things controlled before the ****?

Via touch screen in 2007-2012 LS's.

Well there ya go. Easiest way to see the refresh is the grille. In the 2013 model they started with the "spindle grille"

Do as CJITTY instructs bobflood, because believe me, you will have a lot more questions!

These cars are so much fun, and you can hardly stop finding out new things or enjoying all their great features/functions.

What years you look at will also determine how much guidance we can give you for your future purchase. Let us know the years, and if you have a particular car in mind, send us a link to it and we can give our advice on price etc...

Does anyone research before they ask questions? You don't even know when the front grill was changed? Really? Sorry to be so crass, but come on!!! There is so much information on this forum it is ridiculous. I have learned so much by searching and reading. Again, sorry to bust your bubble, but look around.

Tee - thanks for the info. See you are in Atlanta; I'm in Powder Springs.

CJITTY - thanks for the link - that is great info. Just spent several hours perusing it.

Greg3852 - thanks for the offer; I've just about decided on a 2103/2014 model. Don't need/care about "L" or AWD or premium stereo; want white exterior and light interior; like the blind spot monitor feature. Love the HUD in my wife's BMW, but doesn't appear to be available on LS - is that correct?

Thanks!!

I've wondered why Lexus doesn't offer it. Maybe they don't think many buyers would order it.

No HUD. The GS can be optioned for a HUD but it is not as fancy as the BMW or Hyundai HUD.

HUD on a GS is extremely rare, though... unless you're ordering one new.
