2009 LS600
Pulled up to a traffic light and noticed the red brake warning light had come on. When I went to pull away, the car would not budge! I turned the car off and restarted and it went fine.
Now, intermittently, the red warning light comes on and off. I tried googling this topic to see if there were any references to it happening but found nothing. It tends to come on when I'm slowing down but it has come on while normal driving as well.
I spoke with my dealer and he thinks its the emergency brake sticking. Does this sound plausible?
thanks in advance

These cars have an automatic parking brake as well. Is that on? There are two switches to the right and below the steering wheel. The upper one, if pressed, turns on the auto park option and the lower one is the manual switch.

I drive a 2014 Lexus GS350 and my car has a feature called Hill Brake Assist. When coming to a stop if you add more pressure or push hard on the brake pedal an icon on the dash will light up indicating that the feature, is activated. The brake will engage so that you dont have to hold the brake pedal and roll backwards during a stop while uphill "so your car wont slide backwards". Once you release the brakes the car will not move until you step on the gas again or wait 3 seconds before it will disengage.
So maby your LS600 has this feature too? I know over the GS forums that alot of members are mistaking this feature for brake problems. I hope this info helps.
