Did you get the engine light on in addition to the VSC warning?

need a scan tool that can read long term fuel trim. LTFT is what the computer is doing to fuel either adding which is indicated with positive numbers or cutting fuel indicated in negative numbers. At idle it should be around 14. If LTFT is high it is an indication that unmetered air or false air is entering the engine after the maf sensor. one way to determine where the false air is entering is spaying brake kleen around the intake manifold and hoses post maf and reading the LTFT to see if the value drops.
If you have access to a scan tool that can access the vehicles ACTIVE TEST system you can manipulate the amount of fuel going into the engine. By manually enriching or leaning the system sometime you can find a cylinder that is missfireing but is being hid by the computers attempt to adjust fuel trim.
