I will be doing this. 1,800-2,100 is where it's loudest, probably going with 1,950/26" length J pipe to get it right in the middle. I hope it helps with the 150rpm below and above.

Looks like I may go with 26.5 as it sits right smack dab in the middle of all my low end drone. I got the pipes in and am measuring them.

There are companies that will sell you adjustable ones too, so that they can be adjusted according to the drone rpm range.

This is for a Pontiac G8, but a welder doesn't care what you put it on I hope that you get the idea though. The adjustable ones look like this:

This is off of a Chevy SS by the same company:

This is just to give some ideas to get rid of drone and to show you how it looks when you install a j-pipe. A Heimholz chamber does a similar job, but looks and works differently.

They are welded to the mufflers in this picture:

Please let us know how it works.

I haven't gone out and tested it on the highway yet, but it is a LOT more quiet now 1800-2100.

I went with 26.5"

I'll have to get the wife on board to get a good video but it's coming.

The good: Drone is 90% gone from 1750 on up. This takes care of 95% of my highway driving.

The bad: Drone still present but toned down below that. Peak drone is 1550 now.

It's really quite tolerable, the only factor left here is that our cars tend to lug the engine, preferring to lumber around town between 1,400-1600 (The drone in this range can be a little grating if you're not used to it.) when driving nice and easy.

I'll have to lengthen the J pipes by a couple of inches to knock that last bit out, I may come up with an adjustable solution if possible.

Sounds good so far, it'll be interesting to see the drone reduction.
