Has anyone installed a viper or compustar alarm in an LS? My goal is to install an aftermarket alarm and use the factory fobs to control both. Any ideas/suggestions will be appreciated.

Yessir. .. i have a viper 5706v with a dball2 & smart start gps... it works flawlessly.. oem fobs arm & disarms both oem & viper simultaneously. Then i use my smart phone to remote start the car.... in addition i have the gps tracking option...

I have the same set up but with the 5906v. I don't even use the color led remote anymore the car automatically unlocks whenever it detects the key fob. Any I always carry my phone so I can smartstart it from the phone. Only problem I have with the remote start is that there's no way to bypass the shutting down of the car whenever you open the doors.

Thats why i got the 5706v (non-color remote) it was way cheaper especially since i won't use the remote.. they now make 1 that has a non pager remote.. 5606v same brain an features just no pager remote... something you'll NEVER use anyway

i had gotten the alarm at a discount from my previous employer before i left so it wasnt that expensive.

My local installers don't want to do the setup. Can one of you guys talk me through it without exposing too much?

Goto vipers website search for a local dealer that should be a help... if not pm me an I'll try to find a top end dealer in your zip
