Navigation/HVAC Unit Recycle Problem
HI CL, been a while since I have visited or posted, hope one of you can help me out. About 2 weeks ago the battery went dead in my '08. I went ahead and replaced it myself (I was stuck in a parking lot on a Sunday) with an AutoZone Gold battery. Late last week out of nowhere the Nav unit reset itself while driving, the HVAC also went out,and cycled back on, my XM kept playing. This has happened 2 times this week as well. I tried to search but couldn't find anything. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks in advance.

Welcome back Pete. Since the onset of your "Navigation/HVAC Recycle Problem" seems to be coincidental with your "dead battery" event, perhaps they are related. One possibility that you should consider is a bad connection at one of the battery terminals. This may have also been the cause of your battery being discharged. You need to clean the battery terminals and cable clamps and inspect the cables for defects. Be sure that your battery is fully charged before you reconnect it to your car.

Yes, almost certainly a faulty connection to the battery. Use a fine grit piece of sandpaper to clean the inside of your battery clamps. Also check that you didn't disturb any of the cable connections when you replaced the battery.
