Default My subwoofer is off need help

ok i posted like two weeks ago that my 6x9 was blown and it made all my mid and low speakers cut off so i bought some aftermarket speakers and boom all my speakers cut back on accept the subwoofer now i have a question do this mean i have a bad amp or sub or is it like a safety feature on the amp i need to get around i have a 2007 LS460L with the mark lev system if anyone have any idea could you help me

I remember reading somewhere that stock Mark Levinson speakers operate at 5 or 8 ohms while most aftermarket speaker sold are either 2 or 4 ohms. This would be a problem because the amp was designed to work with the oem speakers at a specific spec and if given a different ohm speaker can really mess up the system. I suggest replacing the OEM amp too with a aftermarket one since you already bought and installed the door speakers. This will fix your issues.

This is why it's so important not to mess with the ML system by changing speakers, subs, etc. It's a complicated system and work in harmony with itself and doesn't like outsiders. LOL. There's plenty of OEM speakers on Ebay etc.

Dalenolia, doing that may fix your problem, but create other problems. Read Tee's thread in the Audio section in the DIY Sticky. In fact read all the threads in that section for additional info.
