Tonight I noticed that the DRL LEDs stayed continously on after turning off the engine and locking the car. Usually, they are off when I shut down the car then turn back on a few secs later for 1 or 2 seconds then are off for good. I tried restarting then shutting down the car several but to no avail so I ended up removing the fuse that's on the positive cable to turn then off tonight. Was working flawlessly until now so I am wondering what could be causing this issue?

What LED decoder are you using. I have the gold ones, but led still flickers and just received the ones recommended on drl thread. Seems like that's the most foreign item in circuit

I have the same lights and have had them installed for a year or so with no issues. They do not have a decoder and simply run off any 12V source.

So....how did you install them? if you install them to a 12V switched source like I did, they will come on and off with the ignition on. So that tells me that you (or whoever installed them), connected them to a source that remains on after ignition is off. What concerns me is that, you apparently have some other source staying on after the ignition is off. There are many systems in our cars that do that for a time, but eventually shut down. FWIW, I connected mine into the underhood fuse panel to the wiper fuse, because I know it's only hot when the ign is on.

How long did you wait to see if the lights go out?

It has been connected directly to the battery and was working fine until now. It was coming back on for a sec after ignition was turned off when some other systems was running but always turned off automatically afterward.
Maybe I should switch to the underhood fuse panel instead, would you by any chance have a pic on how this done?

If it were connected "directly" to the battery, it would NEVER turn off. Did you install it?

As for what I did...... on the passenger side of the engine bay is the fuse panel. It's under the engine bay cover. The fuse panel has a lid and at the end closest to the firewall is a fuse marked, "wiper". Simply connect to that fuse. Obviously you need to make sure you ground properly as well. I used an existing lug terminal nearby.

Thanks for the info, and it was turning off properly ever since it was first installed so i'm not sure what went wrong. I'll hook it up like you mentioned to see if that takes care of this issue.

If you run out of things to consider, you should be sure that the doorjamb switch on the driver's door is not the cause.

Disregard my reply, lol. Didn't look at link as to what type of DRL light you were running. Good luck with finding solution, roadfrog always provides good info.
