Default Removing Drip moldings

Has anyone done a DYI on swapping out the roof drip moldings? I just bought my replacements but was told ill need all new clips too because they will break during the removal...



would really rather not spend the extra 160 bucks for plastic clips lol. anyone have any tips or tricks?

The clips are cheap less than 10 dollars a piece you need like 6. I'll find the part number but it's on clips and fasteners.

Guess just need to try and pop them off and see how many i break, Dealership made it seem like it was a whole set i had to buy not just what i needed. ill mess with it during the week when i can get to a dealer.

Yeah there cheap and they break because there plastic and get brittle. You won't break all of em but there is always a possibility.

I replaced both sides of mine and did not need any new clips. Used plastic putty knives to remove the old trim and the piece just popped off to start and then just worked it down the length of the trim. Popped the new one on without any trouble. Cleaned up all the dirt along the length trapped under the old trim before reinstalling new.

Makes sure you do the removal when the roof is cool... temp is the enemy... not too hot... not too cold...an go slowly 1 clip at a time
