What are the changes to the 2015 Nav on a LS460. Will I be disappointed if i buy a 2014? I can't find any info on the specifics, just a general comment that the Nav is new for 2014. Thanks

This what I could find:
For 2015, the Lexus LS 460 lineup expands to include a Crafted Line model, which builds upon the F Sport package, adding a special color scheme and matching Tumi luggage. The navigation system features new software this year, and there's now a customizable home screen and Slacker Internet radio. Also new for 2015 is Lexus Enform Remote app compatibility, enabling owners to control some vehicle functions through their smartphones. Finally, the big sedan's rearview camera gains dynamic grid lines to assist you during parking.

I just answered my own question... Looks like the 2015 uses Gen 8, the 2014 uses Gen7

I have my doubts that any person would be dissappointed with the purchase of any LS 460, assuming it was purchased at a fair price considering it's age, mileage and condition. I don't believe a navigation difference would break your heart. Just my opinion.

2014 LS's use generation 7 navigation. 2015 LS's use generation 8 navigation. Gen 8 has a lot better voice commands and gen 8 also has free traffic and weather forever because it is based off of the HD radio. Gen 7 cars weather and traffic were based off of your Sirius/XM satellite radio subscription so you had to pay for it. Also another big difference is 2015 gen 8 cars have the Lexus Enform Remote app which lets you remote start the car from your smart phone, lock and unlock the car from your phone, see the status of your car on the phone, and you can also see a map of where the car is at on the phone.

On the older models, that app that could remote start, etc. the car was called RES+. But it's something that had to be dealer installed, as I understand. I'm a long time X-automotive engineer, and I've never seen a dealer that could install floor mats without mucking it up. Suffice it to say, I would NEVER let a dealer install the RES+ hardware on my vehicle. And as long as I don't use a Gen 8 nav and get use to it, then go back to Gen 7, my Gen 7 is perfectly fine.

I have the older nav in my 2013 GS, and a friend of mine just bought a 2015 GS with the new nav, he and I both prefer my nav. So I wouldn't sweat it.
