Using Voice Guidance, is there a way to search for a Point of Interest by name? I can do so with touch screen commands when the car is stopped, but voice guidance appears to offer only a subset of the options.

For example, how can I find the nearest Subway near my current location using voice guidance? I tried POI>Bakery & Deli>Near Here, but only three options were shown (not Subway) with no way to see more. There are other options such as phone number/address, but I typically wouldn't know that info.

I've been experimenting with my newly-acquired 2010 LS460. Apparently, there's no way to use voice guidance to find a POI by name, although you can do it using the touchscreen. It's a disappointment, but navigation on the car is lacking in a number of areas. Instead, I use Google Maps on my mobile phone in conjunction with Bluetooth for hands-free operation.

I use the map display on the nav screen often, however. In combination with my cell phone, I get an easy to-see display accompanied by accurate voice prompts. That's much better (and safer) than trying to look at the phone screen when I need to get my bearings.

It seems a strange omission from voice guidance since I can't see how safety is improved by restricting POI names while allowing, say, telephone numbers. I would have to pull over and stop to use either my cell phone or Lexus touchscreen. Thanks for checking out the issue, Gbp!
