Joined the 460 side!!
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say my official hello to the 460 club! A huge thank you to everyone on here for helping me out and answering my questions before my purchase. I was previously a 430 owner (car is up for sale still) and was hugely impressed with the improvements they made on the 460. In short, they took an already fantastic car and made it even better - certainly an excellent progression of the LS model series IMO.
Here's what I ended up with:
2012 LS460 AWD, Nebula Gray/Lt gray leather, 17k mi, Comfort, Cold weather, and ML sound packages.
Picked up the car about 2 weeks ago, but wanted to give it a proper cleaning before posting on here. I was actually all set to buy a CPO'ed car, but this one turned up at an Audi dealership in WI. I decided to take a trip there and pretty much accidentally stumbled onto my ideal 460. Service records were pretty good, nothing major but did lack the 15k mi. Since it's closer to 20k and the selling dealer changed the oil anyway I figure I would just tell the dealer to include the 15k on my next visit. It was very clean on the outside, save for some minor marks on the bumpers. A bit dirty on the carpets, but nothing a quick detail can't solve. Their asking price was pretty good at 41.9k, but I negotiated down to 40450 before taxes. A huge shout out to Dave at Zimbrick Audi for being honest, and very easy to work with!

Good pick! Remember, if you're still within the car's standard warranty period, 4 years (from in-service date) / 50K miles, you can buy a Lexus Platinum VSA from a Lexus dealer to extend your coverage. Unlike a CPO warranty, it's transferable (one-time) to a new owner or you can cancel it and receive back a pro-rated amount of your purchase price.

ETA: Whether or not you need an extended warranty is a decision only you an make. Some will say that statistically it makes no financial sense; others figure the peace of mind is worth it.

Thank you very much! I am hugely excited, and honestly feel the car is almost too nice to drive everywhere

Thanks! Yeah I really liked the color as well. The one I was looking at prior was a silver one. While I think silver compliments the car very nicely, the Nebula was my first choice. You can definitely tell Lexus did an amazing job painting the car, the paint just looks so deep (I am by no means a detailing expert lol).
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Welcome and nice car . Keep the 430 if you can, The 430 is a very reliable car that can easily go until 200K miles.
I first owned a LS460 and recently picked up an 04 LS430 because I loved both generations and read great things about the 430.
