Was at the dealership the other day have some work done and was walking around the lot. They had an 08 parked next to a 2014. Look at the rear it looked like as long as you had the 2012+ trunk the newer tail lights would work in and earlier model. Anyone know if this really is the case?

I found the rear camera and button to lift the trunk in different locations on the 2012+ however...wondering if this would cause issues with the back up system in the earlier models.

You need the rear bumper too. The lights on the 2013 are thinner.

Have you considered the LED tail lights that many of us here at CL installed?

I've looked at them but prefer my current ones over those. I was simply thinking if I ran across a set of 12+ tail lights and deck lid at a great price I might look into this. But if it also requires the rear bumper the cost of this is going to climb.

But it would be nice to know if the rear camera being moved affects the system.
