Happy to finally be a LS460 owner!

The corollary to lack of insight to this move of vehicles out of the dealer service stream is a developing perception that the old stuff is more reliable/higher quality. It's not that much different than most things where people think the old days were better, kids more polite, crime lower, lifestyles better, etc. etc.
Each time I drive the 460 I become more impressed. I thought that the 430 would be nearly impossible to improve upon, but that's not true. The 460 is an awesome, magnificent car!

I think that you're right. But my service advisor has told me that a fair number of former 430 owners who traded up for the 460 regret doing so. He attributes it to reliability issues. He also says that the dealership's mechanics regard the 430 as bulletproof. But none of this matters to me because I'm a happy owner of both!

That's one of the reasons I bought the 600. Kids picking colleges can take you all over - my last one will be doing it this summer. The LS is great for cruising up & down the east coast. The lack of trunk space isn't too big of a deal for us as we are all small packers and we spend more time riding in the seats with nothing in the trunk than we do fully loaded up with luggage so the trunk was a lower priority.

I got it for about $36K before TTL. That was probably a bit on the high side but justified. I went to the service dept. and obtained the invoices for all of the work put in the car to sell it as a CPO, which was close to $3K (4 new Michelin tires, alignment, brakes, filters, etc.).
